The Alliance for Lawyers and Rural America was conceived by a group of co-authors who lamented the lack of national-level unification and dialogue at the intersection of law and rurality. Spanning the country from California to Maine, these six women decided to utilize their forthcoming article,  Legal Deserts: a Multi-State Perspective on Rural Access to Justice, as a catalyst for something bigger than the article itself; as a result, the Alliance for Lawyers and Rural America was created.
